About
Born in Chicago, Dave has been taking pictures for as long as he can remember. “I used to shoot Polaroid and my sweet Vivitar 110 all the time. I sold my first photographs at the age of 9. After that, I really felt like I needed a break from photography.”
Ten years later, feeling inspired, Dave decided to pick up the camera and take a photography class at College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn. “I really wanted to get behind the camera and start taking pictures again.” Sources have confirmed that this is a lie and he actually took the photography class because there was this cute girl named Lauren who was looking for someone to take the class with her and share a box of photo paper. After 6 years at the two-year college, Dave completed his Associate Degree in Photography. With the support of his instructors and the disappointment of his parents, Dave quit his full time job and moved to New York to continue his photographic education.
Dave graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2000 with a BFA in Professional Photographic Illustration and moved back to Chicago to be with his family (because he was BROKE). He has since been working in the professional photography industry as an assistant, retoucher, and photographer. On occasion he still wonders what happened to Lauren.
